This is the info Reks gave me when I asked about info for the RP - just for peopel to be a tad more informed and stuff.
7:06 PM - Ehksidian: Ah, well, good startoff point: Mannerisms. Are they naturally curious? Resistant to change? Are they accepting, or rejecting of oddities? Are they normally very formal, or informal? Do they follow honor of some sort, or not very much?
7:08 PM - Myifee: Yes indeed. Celions prize learning and push for education.
7:09 PM - Myifee: They aren't really resistant to change, but will ignore things they don't think they need, even if it's proven to be better
7:10 PM - Myifee: It should be noted that they aren't exactly open to oddities, as with the vampiric gene and whatnot, but they won't openly just maul someone different. As for ideals, so long as it doesn't intrude on their own lives they don't care so much. Celions are fairly formal, where Nemians tend to be a bit laid back, but that's a personal basis in the end.
7:10 PM - Myifee: Celions don't have an honor code so much as general respect, much like a human.
7:11 PM - Myifee: Nemians are the ones with an honor code for hospitality to visitors and protecting their friends and family.
7:11 PM - Ehksidian: Alright. What is their culture most similar to, if you were to compare it to an Earth culture? Greek? Roman? Japanese? Chinese?
7:15 PM - Myifee: Japanese with some Chinese, but with less focus on heirarchy and royalty (though Nemians actually DO have a royal family, though they're powerless)
7:15 PM - Myifee: It's mostly their ideals
7:15 PM - Ehksidian: Ah. Alright. Government-wise, what's it like? Democracy? Parlimentary?
7:16 PM - Myifee: They don't elect a sole leader, moreso like a parliment
7:17 PM - Myifee: Their main government is headed by three elected officials. Always three, and at least two have to be in agreement before something can be passed
Celion Biology
Celions are very tall, and very lithe. They're a mixture of canine, feline, and vulpine with a dash of color. Their bodies are streamlined, and as climbers, their legs are long and a bit larger than their arms and upper body, but they still have enough to get by. They aren't very muscularly defined, as they're covered by thick poofy fur that's thickest around their necks and shoulders, stomach and hips, ankles and feet, and on the end of their tails.
The bioluminescent organs on their body also cover bits of their fur in random dapples, spots, and stripes, rarely in patches large enough to be completely solid (that's what Nemians are, but for this purpose Celions are the focus). The glow color can range about the same as the human iris, and their fur is generally darker and two tone, the darker tone prominent in the puffier fur, though they have differing patterns and colors, much like cats (aka white is rare, as is pure black, but everything in between is common).
Their arms are long and reach to just below their hips, though their legs are a bit longer than the total of their upper body and head. They are not true digitigrade, though neither are they plantigrade. They stand on their toes at full height, but when relaxed or bounding in stride (Celions cannot 'run'), they partly stand on their heel. The toes are long and the paws big to cover a lot of area to reach.
Their heads are very pointy and thin, with backward facing and pointing ears adding to the streamlined appearance. Their ears cannot swivel a full degree like the Avali's can, but they can move to the side and point straight up. They have large, forward focused eyes under a natural bony brow that has slightly thicker fur, giving them a slightly natural glare. It's a little hard to give an example of their shape, but it's long and thin, but not much like a dog's or fox's muzzle (the closest canine example I have is a Pharaoh Hound). Their 'hair' is just longer, thinner fur that can cover their head and the back of their necks, the side of their muzzle, and even their ears (though not the insides. Those have very fine, downy, fuzzy hairs to lock in heat without disrupting their hearing). Females don't really look different, as Celions do not produce milk and thus do not have mammaries, though they ARE mammals.
Celions do indeed have mammaries, but not external. Right before birth, a sac full of milk and nutrients is deposited into the unborn kit, on which it nourishes until it can eat solid food.
Celions are naturally omnivorous, but focus on eating fruit, so their teeth, while pointed, are small and with some exceptions of snaggleteeth, are not visible with the mouth is closed or slightly open. Celion blood is naturally a brighter red than in humans, but their blood tends to glow the same color as their bioluminous organs, so this is only if their blood is collected.
In terms of height, Celions range from 2.5m to 3.4m in height, towering over many other races.
Nemian Biology
Nemians are much like the Celion; however, while the Celion are naturally lithe, slender, and tall, the Nemians are stocky, bulky, and short (in comparison; they range from 2m to 2.7m in height). They also tend to have more bioluminescence on their body, in large splotches rather than patches. Nemians are also, on average, physically stronger than Celion, though they have a weaker immune system.
Culture
Celions and Nemians, at first glance, seem to be the only two real different cultures on Celarra. But only Nemians are mostly unified in their own ways. Celions are remarkably diverse given the size of Celarra, as most continents have a vastly different flavor of culture between each.
Celarra is lead by a pseudo-parliamentary government headed by three elected officials called the Triarcs, and it uses a monetary system based on cashing in for metals.
Celarra as a whole has a very nature-based society, with most, if not all, of its sciences aimed at biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, medicines, and other such studies not harmful to the environment. Celions tend to despise and shun mechanical augmentation, preferring to enhance what is natural already. Nemians at the present day are a small demographic compared to the Celions, and they themselves are rather neutral to or outspoken against mechanical augmentation, but such practices are not performed or even illegal in some cities on Celarra.
Both Celions and Nemians live in large communal clans, mostly related but with extended families as well. Kits are raised by their parents as much as growing up amongst their families, usually forming closely knit ties and bonds within their own clan. Both hate travel and leaving home, and as such colonization is very uncommon and mostly done out of necessity with volunteers, and exploring itself is a well-paid career for them.
...yep.
