Since I doubt anyone knows I have astigmatism, which means one of my eyes sucks and I need glasses or contacts to correct it. Anyways Lasik is permanent surgery that counteracts astigmatism, restoring a person's sight, and I was all for that until somebody described the actual procedure. Basically they slice open your eye, peel away a little flap of it, zap it's innards with some lasers, and then you'll wake up the next day with perfect vision. Sounds kinda shitty right? Nope it's worse because they can't knock you completely out despite artificially keeping your eyes open the whole time, you have to be awake and conscious the whole time, even if you can't actually feel it.
Getting my wisdom teeth out sucked but I was 100% out cold the entire time, they gave me an IV and the next thing I know I have a bunch of blood soaked gauze in my mouth, I don't care how fast I can recover from the Lasik I will not do anything like that If I have to be awake for it.
You realize that the drops temporarily blind you though right? You have no way of perceiving what's going on.
You can also smell your eyeball burning. It stays with you for half a week.
It'd still be worth it though. There's so many subtleties and other things you just can't see with glasses or contacts. I'd still recommend it; there's really no way it can go wrong these days. They give you Xanax anyways so you won't even care.

Nooooope, I'm extremely protective of my eyes, like when I was younger the eye doctor could never do the glaucoma test because I simply could not hold my eye open with anything that close to it.
With my eye forced open like that and the smell of burning pupils in the air I'd probably flip the fuck out and lose my eye for good.
I do NOT do well during procedures like that, the only reason I can sit still through the dentist scraping my gums and crushing my lip is because I'm so used to it by this point.

Nah, you can't. Like I said: the power of DRUGS. It tracks your eyeball anyways so you panicking won't damage your precious eyes.
Your loss, though.

Yeah I may look into a few years down the road. Would be great if they could set me up such that I'm conscious but so out of it I may as well not be. After the wisdom teeth removal I apparently was up and moving and talking but damn from my end I blacked out in that chair and woke up on the couch with a blood-soaked pillow under me.

Yeah it feels instant doesn't it?
So does anybody else find it extraordinarily insulting for people to just brush you off? Like, more than anything else in the world?

Not really, I'm too used to it to be bothered most of the time.

Yes.
Well, at least I know that I'm not alone.

Mmh.
Kinda. On one hand, it's a little rude? On the other, there are far worse things someone can do and simply dropping the conversation, while again rude, is hardly the worst.
Per-case scenario, of course.
Now if you were brushed off intentionally, that's a lil' different. Depends on how it's handled.

The worst is when people just go "k" as I try to make a conversation.
I personally just snap when someone tries to discredit me.

WE DO NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS.

Glad we got that RP issue worked out.

I'm still not coming back until I'm sure that Marxon won't be a problem. Hopefully he gets his act together and we finally get something running. It's a shame that so much talent has been wasted already though.
Though Shaad never even gave me anything but a trinket once, from the shopkeeper...

He just loves to jump on my case the first chance he gets.
He says he's my friend but I'm not so sure anymore.

Marx. Bruh. That isn't something you post on a forum in front of said person. Both of you need to stop poking at each other.

Well if he has the nerve to say that nasty shit then why not?
