I am officially stumped.
I transferred my Fallout: New Vegas install from my laptop to my desktop, changed the relevant ini file settings so things would use the right graphics card, and made sure the file structure was exactly time same by completely deleting my Desktop's older version of the install and replacing it with the one from my laptop.
...
For unknown reasons, it crashes without fail when trying to load one of my savefiles. The loading wheel will turn for a minute and then suddenly "Fallout New Vegas has stopped responding. Yadda yadda you know the deal." Doesn't matter which save I try either. Confusion Level: 9001.
My Skyrim, for which I did the same thing (actually less meticulously) works perfectly fine; actually it works BETTER than it does on my laptop.

I don't get it. I completely removed and copied over the Mod Organizer folder and all its contents. The only thing that could possibly be different is the vanilla game's files, yet those are the same too. I'mma try and remove my texture packs and see if that does anything. If it does, then my 7 year old Laptop is offically better at running games than my new 1 year old Desktop.

Finally somebody who knows that pain. It's so weird having your throat feel like it's getting frostbite or something.

When I get it it's more like my lung area.
Also, testing complete. Removing texture packs did nothing.

That is what I feel like after running in cold weather for a few hours.
Starting a new game works.
Seriously, what the hell? Why can I not load any savegames from that character?

Mods are likely out of order. I suspect a mod had a hiccup and now the save is trying to access mod files that it shouldn't need because they don't exist.
I'm pretty stupid though so take that with a grain of salt
Farmer, he seems harmless, why are you naked, why is that person dead...
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, RUN FROM THE FUCKING WEREWOLF!

No but I did see a red and white umbreon, pretty much a fursuit made of normal clothing.
