You lived on in the universe's heart as the first confirmation of canon was disemboweled in a boiling-sand blood arena by a human in a battlesuit.
Now it's just canon this time.
Yaaaaaaaaay
Honestly I'd totally forgotten about your world and that the Jaerans were in it. I guess I expected lore questions at some, any, point.
Because they didn't have the chance to really come up at all in the original.
And in the reboot a good deal of original lore doesn't matter for any species. The United Worlds is the best choice anyways, since by nature of the UW there would be a wide variety of species who can share infrastructure with them.
Well, not sure where to go from here.
Well someone already made this in fallout 4
Since Silver is actually here, a friendly reminder that I conscripted him into XCOM and he is in fact not dead yet, which puts him well ahead of all my other assaults except maybe Jim, because Jim isn't dead either.

I die in the next mission I'm on, calling it.

After last night's mess which many think I'm somehow responsible for, not sure if I should bother with continuing things if this is the response I get.

How am I still alive?
I've been swapping out you and silver on the active duty roster back and forth for a few weeks now, mainly due to injuries, so right now I'd chalk it up to advanced armor and a lack of any REALLY big aliens.

You survived Newfoundland so honestly I'd be pretty pissed if you did.

What about Rommel?
The old Desert Fox is still toting his laser rifle and being sick of the aliens' collective shit. Not the best soldier I've got sadly but he's flexible.

While it was a bit on the over powered side, at least you aren't just going in and out of your house, like some other participant.
What you should ask yourself is whether or not there was a story reason for what happened.

I just want to point out that as long as an upside has an equal downside, or multiple downsides, it isn't overpowered.

I have to disagree with that sentiment. there is nothing inherently wrong with being a bit mundane, it's your problem. Marx did 3 different things that not only were disruptive in the extreme none of them actually accomplished anything, and that's before we got to the giant walking tank. The inherent problem in what he did, aside from creating the very thing he complained about others having and using it, was trying to make it so people couldn't ignore what he was doing instead of making it just simply noticeable and then being patient. I've made the mistake of trying to literally drag people into an arc before but I learned from that mistake because the large sweeping actions required to force people to notice you are disruptive and inconsiderate not only to other players but also to NPCs, who shouldn't be treated as disposable just because they're NPCs.

There's lots of story, I just can't reveal it all at once or it ruins the surprise and mystery.

I understand the sentiment but unless you are willing to to consult others with your plans the standard rules still apply. The ends do not automatically justify the means. Just because you like where your arc will go doesn't mean everyone else will, and if you bend the rules to get people there then you'll be held responsible for bending those rules no matter what unless the group have you permission to prior.

It was only 6 feet tall...
And I was stumbling around how to deal with UnamusedAvali 's shenanigans.
This is why I like the idea of leaving, people are so strict against EVERYTHING I do.

I was literally just reacting to someone who was trying to undo everything I had planned.
SORRY THE EXECUTION WAS FLAWED!
NOW GET OFF MY FUCKING CASE YOU ASS!
