After reading through all the new posts I suggest we haze Penguin for thinking constantly making a fool of himself is a good idea.

Check the size on disk of it.

I guess someone just managed to compress it very well...

I've concluded that CODEX are wizards.
Or that it isnt Fallout. Seeing as to how its measured in MB.

haze?
not sure what you mean.
To rough up, to harass in cold blood. For example, the thugs hazed the old man for not paying his taxes.

Junk. Nothing happens if you click them because they have garbage file extensions.

On Tappa, dunno if this'll work. But yes, you do. I've found torents that had fake installers and stuff.

That is most definitely an archive that was split into parts.

Can't imagine why, the .iso is still 25 gigs.

Of course it is.
You can split archives into parts to store them on external media that are too small to hold the whole file, such as DVDs.
If you were to delete one of those archive parts, the .iso most likely won't extract anymore. It would be missing some data after all.

It's still wizardry to me because on my UI all I see is a 25gig .iso at a 98% compression rate. Something is being tricked here and it's not just fallout's DRM.

Its not at 98% compression rate. I can tell you that right now without even looking at it.

See my previous post explaining how data compression works.

You've gone from 26GB to 25GB, so whatever percentage that is, that is your actual compression ratio.

I stand by my previous post.

The compression ratio actually doesn't tell you how much smaller the file is now. Rather, it tells you it's size compared to when it was uncompressed.
Okay, that's it; I haven't even played the game yet (Tuesday! Assuming I can run it on whichever computer I have avaliable at the time...) and I've completely switched sides. Fallout 4 is amazing, despite the issues.
...I'm still probably going to get a mod that removes the voiced protagonists and restore the dialogue boxes, though, once there are high-quality and very-compatible ones of those released... Though I will probably do my first playthrough with only must-have mods (darker nights, less horribly annoying UI, bugfixes, performance mods, etc.)
