Well we've set the world up so that various interdimensional portals, both technological and magical, are an easy and common way to come and go so everyone can involve whatever wacky character they want. There's a big orbital station full of NPCs and then everyone wanted a "new frontier" aspect so the planet is inhospitable and only lightly populated.

I meant more of a "mystery signal" recovery rather than crash and burn. 

Also, it would be nice to know what species everyone is. Are most characters human? Avali? Anthropomorphic? I'm not picking it up well from the first few pages.

Ehks is still a jakkai, umbra is still an umbreon, Surge has been replaced by an alternate universe robot version of himself, beyond that I can't help.

We take those, too.

Right now we have two Jakkai, three Avali, one Kineptic, a human in the form of Jerry the Side Character, zero Glitch, a dragon pretending to be an Avali(coro), and a so-far-one-of-a-kind energy creature that is probably also an Umbreon.
Those are the currently active people, anyway. There's a ton of NPCs that range racially and are played on occasion. Humans are the most prominent race, but all the other races put together greatly outnumber them.
There's capacity for more races to be added, too, because portals.

Anthro it is! yes it'll be another otter except less of an unholy mix of random qualities

If you want Silver, I could re-enter the RP and open a rift or whatever to redirect your pod to wherever, say it was a fuck up with my character's chronomancy or something.

753 is still probably the best scapegoat for interdimensional shenanigans. He's slightly malfunctioning and usually the most powerful being for a few light years.

Yeah, they were. I really like their outfit (the Dark set, not the Dark Disguise set) but you can't legit obtain it, and you can't wear anything over top of it, so I decided "heck, let's make a race similar to them instead!" aaaaand BASICALLY NO PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE SINCE I LAST MENTIONED THEM. Although now that the stable is out I may try working on them again...
