The masks are quite good but I personally find magic a lot weaker than a bow so no masks for me.
Stealth archery is the de facto most efficient way to play.
Definitely, though you need light armour and some shouts to improve it... however, if you get found...

stealth potion and that top/final stealth tree perk is quite useful too
Best way to play skyrim is worst way to play skyrim. Be a knife fighter! Do more damage with double daggers than a stealth bowyer! Impress the hell out of EVERYONE because daggers ignore large amounts of damage resistance! Crit randomly with like 25% chance! Feel surprised when you survived a melee fight with an ice troll at level 2 with hide armor because you were using daggers! Laugh your ass off when you do it again at level 4! This time naked!

you can more of those you know, chaurus egg and ice wrath teeth if i remember, there's also one alternative recipe that I forget.

Dagger stealth bonus in Skyrim was stupidly overpowered, especially with those gauntlets you could get.
I dunno who thought a 30x damage multiplier was even remotely reasonable.

Because it gives a reason to use a dagger over a sword or axe or hammer.

I beat the main story of the game using only that, coming in at like level 35. Just two handed sith lightning everyone's faces in, Alduin included.
Now that I think about it, I haven't actually played Skyrim much at all after doing that. And I bought the DLCs, but haven't played them at all.

Not to say it is or isn't worth it, but some of the locations are fun to visit.
Cairn of Souls is my #1 pick on that, even if the place is morbid as fuck. Also crossbows + beforementioned archery overpoweredness = most things die in one shot.
