you still need an operator(specialist) to operate them SHIVs are independent and you can have a whole team of them,
of course only until someone made this kind of mod then the gremlins are an acceptable replacement for me(suicide vest is necessary)

Fun fact.With damage randomisation setting active weapons can do as little as 25% damage or as much as 150% damage not including critical hits. I got a 15 damage hit with a shiv on a sectopod on the first mission I sent them on... It would have been THIRTY DAMAGE to anything else. Like HOLY GHFHSGJHFGHJFG!

It's harder in XCOM2 because I need a first and last but if you have a character you wanna volunteer lemme know.
I though it was easier, the character creater thingie and best part, the characters you create can be a soldier or VIP to be killed. So you can make that guy you hate and have him appear as a VIP, then kill him.

ehhh, close enough, though the skin can be a bit asian and green eye color(even though in engagement it's covered by a visor). I'm not sure can you change the nationality though.
