I like how the "russian" team benefits extremely from actual use of combined arms tactics whereas all the other teams tend to be one trick ponies that have to focus on one thing.  My brother had extreme trouble getting use to it from the base game.  Basically had to backseat drive him through it, which is awkward considering I'm awful at controlling RTSes.  Apparently I'm a wonderful advisor.  Iunno.

In any case.  Infantry to push back enemy vehicles and hold positions, with a healthy setup of aircraft (Attack helicopters) and tanks to make sure they can't lightning blitz the infantry's position with armor, and fighters on standby nearby to wreck any of their "aerial solutions." in addition to setting up a couple area denial weapons for airborne targets.  Meanwhile, as your force engages, moving up artillery at the back of your chevron/reverse-chevron offensive formation with your supply lines(repair vehicles).

As non-tactical as Generals is.  That team is wondrous.
I think the point is that the Russian team is the "genre savvy" team, especially due to their lines, which range from "someone's not taking this war seriously" to "I shall hit (the fourth wall) repeatedly, with hammer". Their entire setup is balanced and fun to use, although personally I think they mostly mirror USA's strategy, but the USA isn't as fun. Plus they almost completely reference Red Alert, what with the tesla cannons and all (although dogs ended up going to the EUA).

My only problem right now is that supply vehicle AI is fucked and basically doesn't know how to automatically turn around. They seek out the tightest corner in the lowest left area of the map, wedge themselves there, and spend a few seconds moving in place before heading back. This happens even when the supply building is RIGHT THERE. The only time one of them averts this, it is temporary, only happens with the first non-automatically built supply vehicle, and stops working one you introduce a third. This doesn't happen with USA and GLA, due to their non-standard supply vehicles, but that means I either must A. only play in the bottom left corner of the map, B. sulk in in-game poverty while the AI's supply is PERFECTLY FINE, or C. play only as either the most boring team ever, or terrorists.

But hey, Russia team's worth it.

It's kinda funny how the russian construction crane mostly quote the russian engineer song, also the hopper tank driver was a overlord driver but then took a shell on the threads(arrow on knee) best part is the overlord in RoTR receives horde bonus, perfect for a overlord rush once you got enough resources.

Looked that up, and yes.

"I think we'll put this thing right here!"

"I build many buildings!"

"I will build in expert mode!"

"What the [BLEEP] just happened here?"

"Trust me, I'm an engineer!"
"I'm a knight!"
"I'm a wizard, I study necromancy"
entire party stops dead
"what did you say?"
"well I was in exile for a long time, raised by wolves and such"
"ohhhhh a jokester eh? you'll fit in fine."

Sounds lovely. I'd totally hang out with this guy.
...I actually remember two years ago I was in a D&D campaign with a wizard that could summon a demon octopus named Henry using a blood pentagram.
Fun times.
The necromancer wasn't satisfied with us thinking he was kidding. He summoned an undead horse in front of everyone and got out his necromancy book to prove his story.
Isn't that the best kind of heroic mage though?

The kind that everyone thinks is useless, but comes out of the blue with a deus ex critical success.

The thing is, you can't just say "I'm a necromancer!" because 99 times out of 100 necromancers are evil, and that 1 time they get killed by panicking locals.

this reminds me of how the DM in my game said there was a skeleton horse at the bottom of a pond.

not a horse skeleton, a skeleton horse

so, because of that, i asked to retrieve and tame it. he let me. now my warforged warrior has a god damn skeleton horse to ride around. and a robot on top of a skelehorse is not something you see often. it was worse when said robot was covered in the blood and guts of an abberent tiger-like creature.

Probably an issue with the supply vehicles being larger than the chinese trucks with the same AI and behavior.

As I said, they use combined arms tactics.  Their units when just going spammy can't really faceroll anyone.  But you play to the weaknesses of the other teams instead and use your well developed methodology of rock paper scissors superweapon.

Whereas America just spams "combined arms" at your face, none of it really actually works together very well at all.  So it's just a bunch of different one trick ponies thrown at you at the same time that can be picked off easily, none of it's valuable to the team.  (except their artillery)

Chinese were always about efficient use of spam and careful use of special units and abilities.  All your base are belong to us?  No?  Then BURN.  Or get crushed, son, under the might of a thousand boots (and bolt action rifles woop woop)

Terrorists(GLA) have numerous strategies.  But it's impossible to mix them together very well without having your explosives getting mixed with your toxins then all your infantry die and the enemy just murders whatever is left.  So it's all about careful use of specialist units and hit and run tactics.  Get in, get out.  Or, get in and blow shit the fuck up, yeah!

Last I saw the mod EUA were mostly unfinished so they weren't in, how've they developed?  (I remember something about them using the Eurasian Dynasty soundtrack from earth 2150 and moon project but that's about it)
And then I solved RoTR's derpy supply vehicle problem.

Apparently it only happens in skirmish. Solution? One person LAN party!

Well first, they were actually the ECA (European Continent Alliance), and focus on being the best turtles ever. They're bad at everything else, including attacking another team that is ALSO ECA.

Hope they take it the route of highly specialized and effective infantry.  Would fit the countries included in the team well. In any case. I remember them more now. By a bit. Isn't their offensive strategy getting their turrets in your face and border expansion/annexation?
