i was looking for this server like 3days and i found it but i wonder can avali race mod make us avali players see each other and talk and stuff like that and i wanna ask how do i get in the server
I finally registered for the new Avali Nexus forums! Why did I join?
Firstly, it's because the Avali and other mods inspired me to create my own mod. Not to mention the Avali are the best thing since sliced bread! so freakin' adorable! I joined the original Avali Nexus forums and after spending a year just browsing the original Avali mod discussion (I forgot exactly who introduced me). Now I went away for a bit of time because I had too much going on and I couldn't stand all of the negativity. Anyways I don't know if I will RP again (maybe\maybe not), but I could never keep up with it.

*Note that the 3 in "L3W" is supposed to be an "E" and also because Lew has 3 letters in it*
I was really bored in the past few days so I've decided to create some 3d model weapons to polish up what I can do in Blender (used to make the 3d models). Given that I rarely post around here, I've decided to make the Firelance model, a personal favourite Avali weapon.
The big challenge was the lack of references and how I haven't used Blender in awhile. This practically pushed what I can do to the limits. Trying to understand how railguns work, how the design would make sense for an Avalian to carry, and improvising on details that otherwise wouldn't have been shown on a pixelated weapon.
When this weapon was initially finished, it looked rather bland so I had to put a few twists to the design without heavily hindering the Avali theme. Despite this, I can't be too sure that this weapon is fully Avali themed. I also can't be too sure that this weapon is accurate to the intentional design of the Firelance. Any thoughts and constructive criticism would be appreciated. I may be making other weapon models later. Feel free to post any requests of the next 3d model you'd like to see (avali theme preferred). I won't be doing character models at the moment as they are extremely hard to do, if not very time consuming.
HALLO EVERYONE *turns his head* thank you marxon *back again* again, hello to you all! i am Flashbang F. Deafenhine, at your service! *bows* its good to be here ^^
Hello Avali people, I'm Frank. I've been suffering some mild depression lately regarding my friends so I decided to broaden my horizons by checking out some other communities. Some of you may already know me from the Homestuck/Chat Threads on the Starbound Forums or as an admin on the Starstuck Website.
To those who don't, hello.
I played the Avali mod way back when and I liked it a lot, I thought about joining the Avali thread but by the time I actually got around to it it was like Avali thread 19?????? and things were a little too out of hand for me at the time.
But whatever, looking forward to getting to know you guys.
Hello guys, my name is Jack and I came over to these forums mostly to argue/debate random crap. I'm currently in the middle of collecting criticism of the Avali, and would love to debate the myths of post scarcity and lacking ecology. I'm also a part time editor, but my criticism tends to be harsh but very thorough. If you've got a story or plot you want me to untwist, I'm your man.
Also, Eks, your forum doesn't send confirmation emails!
Some of you might remember my ugly face from the Chucklefish Forums. If so then Hi (again). If not then Hello. But in either case, I don't believe I've had the opportunity to introduce myself properly. At least now I'm not just some random moron who popped out of the blue from nowhere and wanted to get in on all this Avali stuff.
I suppose we should start with my story. For the sake of time and pagespace, I'm mostly going to focus on my personal history with the Avali. There isn't much to it, but it all started on one Team Fortress 2 server. A bunch of guys were running around, spraying the faces of creatures that I didn't recognise - and when I asked (though admittedly I did mistake them as being "Goat-Headed"), nobody knew or was willing to tell me. So I did some link following (because I am a sucker for just about anything adorable) and it lead me to the Avali wiki. I spent much of the evening reading the Wiki and processing the information as best as I could, and so much clicked on a level I hadn't experienced in some time. That evening, I also found the Chucklefish Forum Avali RP. I spent many hours debating whether I should jump in and try things out - after all, I sorta owed it to myself to try and interact with people again. The end result of that was Scipios - a quite mad cyborg Avali whom I never got to do much with, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Also I completely suck at naming things, so despite trying to be as close to canon as possible, we might have ended up going against the character creation guidelines in a few places (also coming up with the name took the best part of a couple of hours, trying to get one with a trilling sound was going to result in something akin to the Monolith Sequence from 2001).
At any rate - not going to lie, but it was a bit of a clusterfuck. It had been the first big forum RP I joined in years, and as such I had a lot of difficulty keeping up and following events though (usually when two or three different members were trying to have different interactions with me at the same time, or when a suspected writing flub popped up). And then there was that rather...embarrassing...incident regarding the Avali Mod and trying to get it to work (long story short nothing seemed to work even after slotting things into folders and exasperating several members, so what was to be an educational experience turned into a gigantic clusterfuck and the whole idea was very quickly abandoned). RP-wise things didn't exactly go well - a member of the RP vanished without explanation, leaving us without a partner and they never returned nor was any explanation given for their disappearance. After a week of frustration, I attempted (and even asked permission to) circumvent the current situation to move things along...only for that RP to close a few mere days after this happened. With that, I thought the Avali community pretty much died out - there was no revival nor communication of any kind.
Then I stumbled across this forum. Naturally I registered soon after and proceeded to explore.
So to recap, still the same neurotic wreak of an individual some of you remember. For those who I haven't met, I can be prone to panic and am unfortunately rather literal minded - this does not mean I don't have a sense of humor, but it does mean I'm going to be following what the most seemingly obvious interpretation of one's post is. If you mean something else, you're going to have to correct me, in which case I'll go back and correct my response if it isn't too late to do so (quick example, the "No NSFW" rule - is it just there to stop porn or are there limits on things like cursing for example?). I would describe myself as someone who tries to watch what he says, though it usually ends up not being what he means. As a result, integrating with other groups is difficult. Also, I am rather self-depreciating, but you probably already worked that part out.
On one last note, if it wasn't sticking out like a sore thumb - yes, I'm mentally disabled. I'm still very much on the high end of my own spectrum, but you can expect some rather...unusual responses. I'm not expecting special treatment, but I figured most people would want fair warning.
Hello, I decided to join this forum thanks to Tuni. I can't get into the game for another week, so I figured I would join the community by forums first and play later. I'll start with a little bit about myself. I'm not a big roleplayer, but I'm a fool for community. I'm a math nerd. I have a tendency to say too much.
