MMOs want your money. They also want you to get addicted and/or play their game a lot so they get even more money. So far, this game* doesn't seem very heavy on the money aspect. You can buy stuff, yeah, including premium which gives you some extra but unnessessary features, but it is by no means shoved in your face. Heck, there's even a currency exchange where you can trade lots of money for premium currency. *Game is Blade and Soul. Recently released in NA and EU. Published by NCSoft. Gameplay is similar to Aeon, I guess, if anyone's played that. Good time so far, doesn't feel too grindy either. Voice acting is pretty awful. I'm mostly just skipping the story in this one. Only people who are allowed to stay home from work when they are sick but still functional are medical workers and food service workers. At least that's the way it appears to work around here. Insurance or not, if you don't work you don't get paid, and you've got bills to pay. Quite glad we aren't that far on the scale in Canada. We wouldn't stand for losing our healthcare and (already declining) benefits. ... Some of the people of the internet should band together, go to some unused land, and make a new country! Proportional representation, non-broken politics, laws that make sense, a government that doesn't spy on its people, laws forcing companies to give people a decent amount of time off work and pay people can at the very least live well with, healthcare, bills for housing and services that aren't ludicrous! A country dedicated to the bettering of science, technology, and medicine - one that isn't held back by governmental selective funding, interference from corporations, etc. One where everyone is accepted so long as they in turn accept everyone else. The amount of people in North America who want this kind of country alone could probably band together and get it done. Add in those from the entire other 90% of the planet and you've got yourself...
