Any math has the potential to be useful. Maths is simply a tool to model, describe and quantify the world around us. Even stuff you probably consider useless like integration or complex numbers are just abstractions that allow us to solve all kinds of problems. It's pretty naive to label it as useless just because something has a more niche application - as problems grow more complex so to do the means to solve them.
