i first thought 40K, but after farms and livestock was mentioned i think we're talking the classic warhammer too.

Feral orks make good target practice. They aren't a problem until there are lots of them.

Nothing else to be done though. Cut them down as they crop up is all you can do.

The tagline to 40k is "In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war". I think that tells you everything you need to know about the setting.
