Frost Armor. Barely any of the bosses are defensive against frostburn, which the armor bonus provides to all weapons.
Then again, Hallowed armor has higher defense and I think better melee bonuses, so it's really a matter of preference.
Are you allowing yourself to use thrown weapons that aren't boomerangs at all?
Anything that does melee damage is fair game. (Boomerangs, spears, swords, flails) but other thrown weapons that do ranged/magic damage are a no.

Yes, because my chances of getting that aren't 0.4% per rare enemy in a rare event.
And lucky enough to happen to get it from a reaper. It took me 4 hours to get the Ice Sickle from far more common enemies at a 0.1% higher drop rate, and Eclipses last like... 10 minutes, maybe? Not liking those odds. Assuming I even get an eclipse.

It isn't even possible to force the eclipse to happen without mods, which I don't use.

Frost Golems are actually super easy to find. There's a very good chance you'll run into at least one in a snow biome when it's raining. Only problem is killing one.
You can fairly easily craft a full set from the Hallowed bars from one or two boss kills, too. I was able to get a full set fairly soon after I beat the Destroyer.
As for melee weapons, you definitely want range, so I'd stick with your Light Discs and Ice Sickle. Go for maneuverability, too- you'll need it.
Of course, you should take my advice with a grain of salt because I never actually beat Prime.

Basically, he's sticking with the kinds of items he listed and only those. Not even grenades, shurikens, or daggers.
Plenty of people do runs like that to challenge themselves, but I love my magic/ranged combo too much.

That went surprisingly smooth considering I only have 405 HP and 52 defense.
The sickle tore through his arms and head while spinning, and the disks provided great DPS.
