is it me or we have a sudden influx of friend invitation to their steam account? heck I dont even know some of these guys and even more suspicious is that their profile is private which mean something suspicious is going on those people, heck I even think those are the recently phished accounts.

i wouldn't touch those... i'm not sure what they can do, if anything, but if it's someone from the thread i'd guess they would do more to contact you than send a random suspicious friend request.
if you have no friends in common, ignore them. this seems like a decent rule of thumb, but i'm no social internet wiz.

Yeah pretty much.
I can usually recognize a Nexus person, mostly because they tend to have friends in common.
If someone randomly friends me, with no friends in common, and I don't recognize them, I won't accept it.

It's a series of tales from a W40k TTRPG, basically the DM had the players make an entire regiment, gibbed 90% of it, and then swept the last 10% into the inquisition and now throws the players around the galaxy with 5 characters from the regiment and an inquisitor in training where they have to find a way to survive as much bullshit as the 40k universe can muster.
