Aha! I figured out why! It appears the tag, [MILKABLE], was directly ported from the old version without updating it, which needs far more data now to work. Indeed, if it worked, males would be milkable as well because it's defined outside of [CASTE:FEMALE], and not within! Time to mod!

Get the Lazy Newb Pack. It contains tilesets, tools, and everything else to make DF less impenetrable.
