I don't have any clone wars holdovers except for AT-PTs, Juggernauts, Acclamators, and Venators. I don't count the Dreadnaught because I'm pretty sure it was already a holdover during the clone wars. Thing is fuckin old. Dreadnaughts are fuckin Mandalorian design, I think they're older than the Republic. "These are built from Mandalorian design. Not the most modern, but very strong." ―Supreme Chancellor Palpatine Accurate... RE: Avali Nexus Forums 2: Back with a vengeance - UnamusedAvali - 09-22-2015 AT-TEs on Geonosis would have been a good idea for the Empire, something versatile, hard to knock over, smaller target, more accurate weapons if less damaging, can be used as goddamn artillery... But plot denies any logical decisions besides the Dreadnaught's layout. Definitely not. *Hides behind an Executor.* RE: Avali Nexus Forums 2: Back with a vengeance - Surge - 09-22-2015 (09-22-2015, 01:40 PM)UnamusedAvali Wrote: AT-TEs on Geonosis would have been a good idea for the Empire, something versatile, hard to knock over, smaller target, more accurate weapons if less damaging, can be used as goddamn artillery...Well the AT-AT, despite it's awkward gait and appearance, is actually a logical design from a fire support standpoint, its comical height means you can't obstruct its line of fire with terrain features, as well as making it semi-amphibious because it can just walk across a lake or something without ever submerging its crew compartment, and unlike the AT-TE it focuses ALL of its considerable firepower forwards. Plus it carries its own infantry compliment. Plus it carries it's own infantry compliment. The AT-TE was also capable of climbing cliff faces and practically using that as a staging ground and somehow the AT-TE could carry quite a lot of clones, just in a very cramped area. Plus place a few Jet Troopers on top, you have a mobile death platform hard to flank, hard to surprise, also artillery. RE: Avali Nexus Forums 2: Back with a vengeance - Surge - 09-22-2015 Breaking news, intensive study by the Wayland Planetary Defense Forces has revealed that invasions consisting solely of hundreds of snowspeeders and T-18s are ineffective at uprooting fortified imperial forces. Rebel leaders expressed shock at this revelation and swore to provide snowspeeders to all the pilots who have this far been expected to attack on foot in order to rectify this vulnerability in their tactics. Coming up next: Ilum. Should we even attempt to maintain orbital superiority on a desolate ball of rock and ice? RE: Avali Nexus Forums 2: Back with a vengeance - OdinYggd - 09-22-2015 OH BOY PRESSURE'S ON TODAY. I am sitting here a mere 8.5 hours away from my wedding. AND MY PHONE WON'T STOP RINGING HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FINISH THE LAST OF THE PREPARATIONS WHEN YOU WON'T STOP CALLING ME FOLKS. What have I gotten myself into... 3 months ago I had the bright idea to do this, now its the day of and the plans are in motion... Did I mention that by this time tomorrow I will have accomplished World Domination by seizing control of the American power grid through a few flaws in the infrastructure? My honeymoon is going to Washington DC... to make Obama move over. Depression can be beaten Marxon. But you have to motivate yourself to do something about it. Try new things as often as you can, talk to people about whats going on- privately if you're feeling down, openly if its exciting. Find things that you can enjoy for long periods of time and surround yourself with them, thinking of all the happy memories that go with how you found them and the things you've done with them. The pills are only there as a stabilizer- an attempt to make changing your outlook as simple as eat this herb and a miracle will happen. Its complete quackery, those pills are widely known to cause the very symptoms they are supposed to be treating. Even with a therapist, more often than not it is impossible to open up to a therapist and trust them enough to tell them how you feel. You'll still have your down days, even people seen as happy and pleasant have it happen from time to time. When you know you aren't feeling too good, just play it safe and think through what you say and do around other people so that they aren't getting upset with you. RE: Avali Nexus Forums 2: Back with a vengeance - Surge - 09-22-2015 SUDDENLY LIGHTBULB. I've been putting off man-portable railguns for the Tecarians for a long time (outside of the M90 sniper and M91 marksman railguns) because halving the magazine capacity of each soldier for power cells just doesn't fly, but I could easily address that issue by connecting the railgun directly to the infantry droids' own power core. However the issue with that is that most droids lack the external connections for such a high gauge power cable, we'd need a whole new model of droid to accommodate that system...a whole new model such as the new Dragoons, who would also benefit immensely from a high caliber, high powered weapon with minimal recoil. RE: Avali Nexus Forums 2: Back with a vengeance - SCN-3_NULL - 09-22-2015 (09-22-2015, 03:26 PM)Surge Wrote: SUDDENLY LIGHTBULB.you know the railguns could get their power tap directly from the mechanical user instead of a external powercell, I mean they have a decently powerful power core right, also you could just use wires/jumper cables but I'm pretty sure you already heard of wireless power just from the palm to the grip. If power, size or weight is really the issue remember the conversation we had on Electromagnetic-gunpower hybrid system could work. |
