I hate to just tell you "tough luck, kid", except it's the harsh truth most of us have to put up with. You can kick, scream, and try to get others to pity you enough for some attention...
Or you can stop, listen to those who give you their time, and eventually develop something beyond that superficial relationship you mentioned before.

This is the most rooty tooty point 'n shooty space RPG I've seen in awhile, the whole thing drips with western themes right down to a soundtrack of southern rock (you can even set your own soundtrack for the game if that's not your thing).
The combat is pretty straightforward, big emphasis on piloting your ship and managing it's main guns yourself. Pretty visuals, character models scream "indie game" though, and not in a good way.
