RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - SCN-3_NULL - 11-06-2015 Dear god, undertale bionicles oh dear, look like my desktop falls kinda behind the minimum requirement for fallout 4, laptop though falls between so partially cool, I can just stream. also my desktop's graphics card supposingly run on less than 50 watts (AMD Radeon 6750, yeah, its very old by now), so my 475W power supply should suffice, so Seg's suggestion of overheating/poor ventilation is the main issue, I might need a new case and a saw, maybe better graphics card too RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - roguephoenix64 - 11-06-2015 Wait, what was the SCP? RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Surge - 11-06-2015 This godamn dungeon group. INTERRUPTS MOTHERFUCKERS, DO YOU USE THEM? It shouldn't have an effect even if you're clearly visible to them when their head explodes. Seriously, nobody was there to see it or report it, much less prove that my character was the one who did it. Yet somehow, through telepathy or some crap, everyone knows. (11-06-2015, 12:20 AM)SCN-3_NULL Wrote: AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaohmygoshitlooksgreat! And not just the graphics; the gameplay features, the animation fluidity, the character designs, all of it! Only problem remains the voiced protag and fugly dialogue wheel crap. I assume and hope that mods which remove both will be the backbone of every mod that adds dialoue. RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - SCN-3_NULL - 11-06-2015 (11-06-2015, 03:35 AM)Shaadaris Wrote:(11-05-2015, 11:48 PM)SCN-3_NULL Wrote: Well you could go for mass genocide route of destroying every Caesar's bases before getting the mark of caesar, then murder the guy that's giving it to you, go to the fort, get your guns back amd proceed to murder caesar, or listen how pissed Edward is first then murder everyone at the fort. Kinda ironic though, my laptop can run fallout 4 a bit better than my desktop, though my laptop has a useful gap in between the bottom of the screen and above the function keys where my phone can easily rest on, good for that pipboy app. RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Segolia - 11-06-2015 (11-06-2015, 03:35 AM)Shaadaris Wrote:(11-05-2015, 11:48 PM)SCN-3_NULL Wrote: Well you could go for mass genocide route of destroying every Caesar's bases before getting the mark of caesar, then murder the guy that's giving it to you, go to the fort, get your guns back amd proceed to murder caesar, or listen how pissed Edward is first then murder everyone at the fort. Why the dialogue wheel hate? It's so much less intrusive than the fallout 3/NV style dialogue box? It works great in mass effect. I disagree on the voiced protagonist thing too? I think a voice is great, it adds to the immersion and makes cutscenes much more immersive - it feels like I'm playing an actual character - am I meant to project myself onto my mute kleptomaniac psychopath or something? RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Shaadaris - 11-06-2015 (11-06-2015, 03:58 AM)Segolia Wrote:(11-06-2015, 03:35 AM)Shaadaris Wrote: AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaohmygoshitlooksgreat! You see, here are my main gripes: -The dialogue wheel gives you a VERY limited view of what your character will say. The character could end up saying something completely different than what you thought the tiny 2 word description meant. -The dialogue wheel leaves very few choices for dialogue, and if more are given, will make the menu way more clunky. -It works well for Mass Effect. This is not Mass Effect, your argument is invalid. -The voiced dialogue will make creating a unique character in your mind very hard since you're limited to one voice. With a silent protag, asides from the pretty general pain grunts, you can imagine any voice, any tone, any way of speaking, any accent, for your character. -It detracts from immersion because you are no longer in as much control over what is said. See the first point. -With silent protagonists and a clear view of your dialogue options, you can project yourself, or make really any character you want depending on how you interpret the tone something is said in, or adding to/taking away from "what you believe your character says" in your mind. -It will make mods that add any NPCs you can interact with or Quests, etc. either complete crap or silent anyway, which will both take away more immersion than if the protag was silent, since they either need to suddenly become silent, or their voice will sound completely different. -It's blatant pandering to the success of these systems in other popular games, when they had something that worked perfectly fine for half a dozen games. This Is Why I Do Not Like The Fallout 4 Dialogue System: Abridged Edition.
