Welcome to the nexus.
Thank you. I think I will like it here.

You realize how much knowing the future screws shit up?

No... not entertaining the thought, I'm probably just really tired or something.

But it doesn't mean you know the future. Its just a coincidence.

I get deja vu all the time, mostly with things I saw in a dream.

A multiple of 3 before something significant happens, I'll see it in a dream. And when it happens I'm usually pretty quick to recognize it.

Of course there's a pretty big confirmation bias on this, since the dreams that I don't encounter I usually don't remember either.

I would like to see a kill list for this heavy blaster wolf. It's getting silly.

I just have complete control over the battlespace in this thing. The where, when, and how of each engagement is mine to decide.
How are you doing this?
I'm finding little in the ways of pirate fleets or fair game and the ones I do find are fucking huge behemoths with ample support.

Most pirate fleets are kites, Cerberii, hounds, re-com wolves, and occasionally a fighter wing or two. They usually outnumber me two to one but the wolf has such a punch to it I don't mind the handicap.

On normal that accounts for the lowest ones.
The worst pirate ship I've seen yet has been an Eagle-D, there were 3 of them against me and a badly damaged hammerhead.

Damn this is easy...

I don't see many larger pirate fleets unless a patrol has already engaged them, which is fine enough to me, hard to do large fleet movements without being noticed.

Also as a PSA patrols will NOT warn you more than once to not fly without a transponder.

Learned this the hard way I have.
I hate how they punish you for staying away from pirates.
Like, we're trying to survive m80.
Go fuck yourself.

I only get harassed about the transponder in pretty secure space anyhow, nobody bothers me out in the hyperspace lanes.

I could use a hug before I fall over.

Yeah, Hyperspace doesn't count but people like the Hegemony treat all space they have even a small occupation in theirs.

FML.
I really need to stop devoting everything to people...
I always end up losing them to some cunt.

Moving through hyperspace takes fucking time, you have to carefully navigate around various storms, sometimes one will form right on top of you in the middle of deep hyperspace and ravage your fleet which will cost you a few days and several dozen tons of supplies, then you have to drop out and get from the jump point to your destination at standard burn speed. Basically 10 days is more of a cross a star system time frame than leave one system and reach a planet in another time frame.

I normally don't take interstellar shipments without a 30 day time frame.

Now I know I need to try SS. You make it sound so in-depth and fun.

Do things happen in the background that shape the game's universe, like in Elite?

The game has a constantly moving interstellar economy, prices go up and down according to a planet's ability to produce and consume a good and based on how many shipments are lost to pirates. Different markets can be strengthened or weakened by shipments coming through and how they come through. The recent update also allows you to join battles in progress, save merchants under attack or reinforce patrols to try and snag some salvage.

There are mods that allow for more depth such as stations and planets changing hands, military incursions by rival factions, etc etc.
