RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - SilverOtter - 12-09-2015 Maybe I should join the SEMISRS RP. See what this is all about and RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Surge - 12-09-2015 (12-09-2015, 03:40 AM)Shaadaris Wrote:753 is fun because he operates with certain rules, his ability to manipulate the universe around him varies and he rarely allows himself to interfere in such a way where his mere presence could be earth-shaking (i.e. a weird robot with no physical joints saves the president from an assassin on national TV, consequences ensue) unless the consequences for his absence are of the earth-shattering variety. Millennia of coping with the laws of physics in different universes has also caused some moderate corruption of his programming which is the cause for eccentric and sometimes erratic behavior. That said a favorite tool of his is various intermediaries, he likes to subtly influence people into shifting events his way and he tends to object less to any disruptions of the timeline or society caused by these intermediaries. Basically he views himself as a bit of an outsider who is better off pulling strings from afar because he has a better view of the big picture but the world "isn't quite ready" for him to get more directly involved.(12-09-2015, 03:14 AM)Surge Wrote: 1: Well we've got three people with a moderate degree of worldbuilding experience, only one of whom who has not had anything to do with the RP yet. RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Comito - 12-09-2015 As the others have stated, and as I have partaken in it, the RP is mostly slice-of-life at the current time. From what I can see, everyone is shopping for clothes. RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Surge - 12-09-2015 Worldbuilding for various universes to put the PCs through will indeed be pretty hard, the easiest way to do it will probably be to choose a central trope and build around that. A principle of 753's interdimensional travel is that while he technically travels along many more dimensions than just 3 he maps the multiverse in a 3D manner, and this means that he's found that a lot of very similar universes tend to clump together, creating clusters of basically the same universe with varying differences between them. The Glitch just seemed like the fit. As Ehks said, we have cybernetic and Ai, so it kind of makes sense there'd be sapient robots. We also have one already in the form of the character Surge introduced who just disappeared. Also, cool! I was actually thinking of putting in some kind of story arc involving the 'cataclysm.' I mean, Ehks has already established that there were monsters... Oh, I also have a character arc in mind for Umbra. He may or may not discover what he really is. I'm waiting for the install disk to finish downloading, where hopefully it contains a "fix my package fuckup" option. |
