So, here's the jist for anyone too apathetic to click the link:

-Hackers exported emails and usernames. It's reccommended you change your password even though it seems they didn't get them.
-Almost the entire social section of the forums was deleted by them. The last backup was in March.
-They're going to restore what they can of the forums to an archive and then rebuild those sections to contain new posts.
Sooo... Be glad the Nexus moved!

Also - and this may be problematic - since we moved forum in April, all traces of us having moved to a new forum will be gone. Since it will be pushed to an archive as well, we will also not be able to post there, I imagine. So we've just lost our main source of new users permanantly, unless we're somehow allowed to post a Nexus Recruitment thread or something, but I doubt that, or unless a lot of intrepid users somehow figure it out and find our site.

I'll see what I can do when CF forums come back. Also, I have to agree with Shaad in that your drawing is very aesthetically pleasing.

I don't think there's anything you can do. I mean, we're a seperate entity now, and I think the only reason we were allowed to post our forum there was because there was still an open link to those forums in the form of our clan thread.

and it's some people named "Outsider and Valkyrie" who are obviously jackasses who wanted to leak people's personal information/sell it because haha yeah that's nice.
fuck them, any and all hackers are scum when they go after big websites and harm innocent people "for teh lulz."

Alright, we may need a new recruitment method. The CF mods only tolerated our recruitment presence, and might not allow it again. We need to be prepared for that.

Reddit offers a fairly immediate solution but not a long term one. /r/starbound is run by chucklefish so if they don't like us on the forums they won't like us on the subreddit (exactly why company run subreddits are a bad thing). /r/furry is already basically our demographic but...well we'd be inviting trouble.

Maybe the best idea would be to make clans/guilds/alliances/whatevers in other games, maybe people would look things up if it got enough renown. Especially if it's a PvP game or something.

Upon further investigation there are some blogs hyping it up but the listed seller doesn't actually offer them. Could be a prank that some folks took too seriously.
