I'll check her wishlist when I get home.

RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Shaadaris - 12-25-2015

Merry Christmas and whatever!
I'm feeling a lot less apathetic today than I thought I would.
I also got quite a few small things I needed/wanted, despite having forgotten consistently to actually directly tell anyone what the hell I wanted.
So... Success?

On another note, why don't designers just make every headphone jack an in/out combo, even if the computer has a seperate mic jack?! It would make it so that, even if you have seperate jacks, you wouldn't need to buy a bloody splitter if you want your one-jack headphones-with-mic to have both parts work at the same time. Was really hoping that since these new headphones happen to have a mic it would allow me to finally use skype and record audio, etc. on my micless Desktop, but upon testing with my Laptop, it won't detect the mic unless I plug it into the mic jack, and even then it doesn't work, probably because the headphones are only meant for a single mixed jack... Or because they were technically supposed to be used with smartphones...

My Logitech G430 included a USB splitter, though if an audio splitter has recognition errors a USB would too.

Haaaaaaaaa.
I'm tired and bored and not at all sorry that I'm amusing myself by antagonizing a self righteous ass on Skype.

Fun fact:
My skype account was recently hacked.

Mic and audio on the same line uses TRRS connector (ground, left, right, mic) - I believe not many computers support this and only have a TRS connector in the jack itself (ground, left, right) so microphones have to be plugged into a separate jack.

I'm not sure if this is exactly the case but I'd speculate why. I'm not sure why it still seems to be commonplace for 3.5mm jacks on computers (although a lot of headsets just work digitally via USB now anyway). Perhaps a soundcard would resolve the issue (it might provide a jack + drivers which support both?)

RE: Avali Nexus Forum Thread 3: A crowd. - Shaadaris - 12-26-2015

Fallout 3 GOTY Edition is on sale for $7.47 for a week or two. I have $23.83 in Steam currently...
SHOULD I BUY IT?!
I have Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, Oblivion, and Skyrim, and the DLC for all of them.
But I've heard Fallout 3 is the most buggy and hard annoying to stably mod of all of them. I've also played it before on the Xbox 360, and I much prefer New Vegas to it...
Auuugghh... I can't decide whether or not I want to get it. On one hand, I have enough money to do so. On the other hand, would I play it when I have the other games to play? (I don't want it to end up like Oblivion - I never play that game)
ARGH!

Yeah, I agree... Things were, quite honestly, a lot more interesting back there. Of course, we also had a lot more regular members, so that's probably a large factor.

Mmm, I dunno. I just find it odd since a lot of smartphones have the 2-in-one jack, to the point where most headphones made for smartphone use come with in-line mics. Eh, whatever.

I think it's over now - and it was only a visual issue.

Something screwed up with the caching and it basically showed you cached stuff for another account. Supposedly you couldn't interact with it in anyway though (like if you clicked a link you'd end up with an entirely different cached account again). Pretty sure it's fixed by now regardless.

Through the power of newbie alienation, oldie alienation, and authority issues, all mixed into one big conglomoration of "stay away". Moving to our own forum permanently, and the circumstances surrounding such, probably didn't help in these regards.

Alas, we shall remain a small community. Like that of that tiny weird village that always exists in media where everyone knows eachother and where nobody ever seems to do anything.

It has severe issues running on newer systems so unless your computer is windows XP, no.  Don't touch it.
