You know it to be true.

Surge, in dotpoints, list why you dislike Insurgency.

  • Claustrophobic maps encourage corner camping
  • Extreme lethality discourages movement
  • Generally difficult to manage weapons
  • Snipers usually only useful for killing other snipers
  • Sniper duels come down to pixel hunting
  • Respawn system (or lack thereof) punishes mistakes harshly
  • Matches are long and drawn out with more stressful idling than actual gameplay

If I recall correctly there was a alpha/dev(?) footage of stardew valley with coop gameplay, anyone got an idea how that will work if it's implemented with the current system/story?

Mmmm, I do love lists.
1. Yes, corner camping is a thing, get over it. Flashbangs and teamwork counter this. Okay, so people in this game will try to COD it, but a lot of my experiences are genuinely positive on the coordination and cooperation side of things.
2. Um, yeah. Welcome to "realism". You wont be running around if you have a bullet in your head. Sure, kevlar should stop more bullets, but it doesn't need to. While mostly a game balance thing, you shouldn't be tanking hits anyway.
3. Clarification please, I genuinely don't know what you mean.
4. What snipers are you using? Get an SKS or EBR and you can mow down people with ease. I clutched a 1v7 because most of them rushed me, expecting an easy kill, only to take a bullet to the face.
5. Agreed, but why are you dueling snipers? Sniper is like it would be in real life, you're supposed to find a nice spot and pick off threats while your teammates push and secure points. If there's an enemy sniper, that you can't confidently kill, fall back and find a new spot.
6. This one is more personal preference, but I'm inclined to agree. Although, if you play patiently, and learn the flow of the maps, you're going to survive a lot longer.
7. Again, personal preference. Depends how you play, what gun and loadout you use, what role you play, etc.

Disclaimer: the above text consists of personal opinions and experience garnered from playing the game. They are my thoughts and should not be interpreted any other way.

BTW, for the original post this sprouted off, RWR is a great game, really captures the feeling of actually being but a cog in a larger machine, just another expendable soldier rather than an asskicking super marine.

Confirmed. No idea how it'll work, but god am I hyped.
damn it null I was about to make a post about that.

Speaking of which, would anyone happen to have a spare copy of it? I'm $6 short in my steam wallet and PayPal is malfunctioning. *makes cow eyes*

The thing is that I like Red Orchestra, which is most of these things you're telling me to "suck it up" over, but Red Orchestra makes the chaos and constant death a fun feature because there are 64 players constantly attacking, dying, and respawning to push and pull objectives. That guy in a corner with an SMG won't be there long because even if you die there are 3 dudes behind you with grenades, and you'll respawn in 20 seconds to go at it again. Literally everything is made so much faster paced by the simple notion that you're allowed to fuck up, the game is going to punish you for it but the next team respawn will just put you right back out there. It's not a "game" of waiting for somebody to lose their nerve and try to move so you can shoot them dead it's a constant orgy of mass violence along a huge battlefield where nobody is even willing to sit still for more than a minute in most cases, never mind camp. THAT is a realistic shooter done right, it uses the realism to add features that either work in the player's favor or enhance his experience, not just make it as stressful as possible.

Insurgency: And then there's me going on three knife kill sprees in a panic because neither of my weapons are loaded before finally being gunned down by the guy who pushed the room with an LMG from the door opposite where I ended up.

I can play it loose in CQC.  As long as allies don't get me killed.  (Yeah, thanks guys for throwing four grenades at that "Set of footsteps" that use to be your pointman, without checking your map or paying attention.)

Weapons handling is REALLY easy, it's just 90% of people forget focus tapping.

I'm lost at long range.  Not bad aim.  Literally start losing sense of direction in insurgency in open maps.  I'm pointman.  I push down alleys and into rooms to acquire targets and get out.

Coca Cola tastes like crap.
Pepsi tastes like crap.
The only pop we have is diet Coke and diet Pepsi...
Okay let's mix the two...
Tastes like... Diet crap. I don't know what I expected.

We should play sometime, add me on Steam.

That actually looks pretty good, might have to give it a try.

Just as bad as the non-diet variety.
I seriously don't know how people can drink Coke and Pepsi. They're just... Eugh.
But to each their own, I guess.

My problem with feminism: People bitch about women's rights. Sure, it isn't all equal and righteous, and there is a long way to go, but if you want independence, trying to make others give you that independence is not the way to go about it. Get jobs, start companies, make it happen. Don't sit there with your silver spoon thinking that complaints and protests will change anything.

So where should I torrent stardew valley from? I do not normally condone piracy, but this is one of my must plays and I lack the resources to buy it.

though luck, TPP is already applied and I think Austrilai is also part of the pact and just like everywhere else the government is made out of idiots and just just willy nilly signed it.

What does the TPP have to do with it?

I just checked torrentday (don't ask) and there aren't any torrents of it. I would guess it has always online features embedded into the core gameplay like JC3.
