Well there were many words I didn't understand. Like, a lot. Found the menu though and got English back.
Still don't know what caused the shift.

I'm gonna pre-order Stellaris and then I'm gonna make a giant alien spider empire. I'm already plotting how terrifying it'll be. Like they'll just lay giant clutches off eggs and once the kids hatch they'll have to fend for themselves and eat each other to survive in a big Darwinian clusterfuck. So there'll be otherwise totally normal neighborhoods with roving packs of cannibalistic spider children menacing foreigners but the locals won't see anything wrong with it.
