A mech is kind of excessive for zero-G labor. The human form has no inherent benefits in zero-G, you would probably get more mileage from a shuttle sized craft with manipulator arms or something similar.

Thinking something like tomb spiders eh? Don't forget that antigrav trumps even mechs for maneuverability. Could have one that has retractable legs for more careful positioning at times where it's needed. So it doesn't have to match speeds if it's doing in transit repairs. Although two magnetic grapple limbs would probably work the same?

Those pods are really about all you need. Life support, thrusters, grippers to get work done, and tools to do work with.
Why even put a human in one? Make them entirely robotic.
