I'm starting to think upgrade is a bad idea
Okay that's the last straw. If I end up with Windows 10 on any of my systems I'm switching to Linux or something else and never going back. Fuck Moneysoft with a splintery telephone pole, what they're doing should be illegal. They're all but forcing people to upgrade, and cutting off Windows 7 and 8 support for new hardware suddenly is going back on their word. I hope their increasing number of hilarious failures of products leads to them collapsing so companies that give a flying fuck about their customers can take over. I don't care if they own Minecraft or the XBox or any other brands, those can be reaquired by people who have the right to be running them after Microsoft burns.
To expand on this, I ask, does anyone here used Linux/Ubutnu/etc. operating systems mainly? I've been doing a little studying and by the sounds of it getting most games and lots of software to run on Linux/Ubutnu/etc. OSes is incredibly aggravating since you need to use stuff like WINE ("""WINE Is Not an Emulator" Is Not an Emulator" Is Not an Emulator..." (etc.)) (I love that acronym so much) or Virtual Machines, both of which come with performance or general compatability issues, or dual-boot and end up using Windows anyway.
Since I'm so familiar (and particular to) the (good (Pre-8)) Windows interface, I'm considering getting Zorin OS at some point, which is based off Ubutnu. However, it seems like the hassle of getting anything I have on Windows 7/8.1 to work on it would be facedesk-worthy.
So basically, does anyone bother with these things, or do you give up and dual boot?
Or are there better options by now? (Lots of these guides were a couple years old)
