Working at the control panels, Danu commanded the reactor to lower as many control rods as it could. But from what she could see of the damage, several of the rods were broken off or had mangled mechanisms from the impact damage.
She turns her attention to the shell, having been made of spent nuclear materials. As such it would be a pretty good absorber, but laying on top of the damaged reactor it might not be enough to stop the runaway.
Even though the reactor was on the verge of melting itself down, the room she was in seemed to get continually colder from all the escaped coolant.
Looking through some debris on the floor, she finds a length of pipe to use as a lever, and starts to pry on the shell to force it the rest of the way into the reactor chamber.
Reactor running at nominal levels.
