//I was thinking of something similar to that. Right now, my character has it jury-rigged to his ship's power core, so it can't be used multiple times without a substantial recharge period. Also, I figured that the drawbacks could range anywhere from temporary unconsciousness to severe burns or even only a partial transport (when only some parts of your body fully teleport with you, ending in limb loss or something equally bad).
