YES! Change at last, though it came at the price of some goading.
I'm glad that you are finally stripping incorrect fluff, but allowing people to randomly decide aspects of a race causes more problems than it should. You have to take responsibility on some level.
Also, hearing requires delicate structures, at some part you would still need to be aware of the damage that could easily be caused. The higher "resolution" that they can uptake, the more easily they can be damaged.
