And you're okay with it, even though you notice it? If they really are just bad, that makes everything worse, because now they're incapable of making a good game.
If they were cunning, at least that meant they were smart and knew what to do.
Making mistakes (big ones) on a game as ambitious as Starbound...when it's their second game (maybe first? idk if RoR was made or published by CF) means they're incapable of making a good game even though they're learning from their mistakes and working on them?
yeah they've made bad decisions and mistakes but they've also learned from them, and are showing they learned from them. they've fucked up in the past, but everyone fucks up a lot when doing something for the first/second time. If they did everything perfectly (no badly timed jokes, actually conveying that they were moving the team and did so in a quicker manner, working on the game much more before pushing out a "playable" version...) then it'd be far better. they aren't the best devs, but they certainly aren't the worst
they've learned, at least. which shows they aren't totally incompetent.
I doubt anyone here may have played this game, and it's a sketchy topic to bring up too.
Robocraft. Also an early access game, with it's own different problems.
The game as far as I can tell was in development for a long time and is still technically in development. Way before it got on Steam and way before its first closed "alpha" outside of Steam. This isn't the issue though. The real problem were the mistakes the company Freejam, made to the game. Players are given the option the invest their steam money into the game's currency. Because the game is constantly changing in each update, the game isn't so quiet but is rather, filled with drama. People invested their money into an early access game because they think the game has potential and is enjoyable. Now take an update that breaks your creations, literally. A recent update made creative bots unplayable. The backlash was an absolute nuke. The biggest mistake Freejam has made because of a mistake they made earlier that wasn't resolved.
Thankfully, the company and the community (although segregated and toxic), have deep passion about the game. With the mistakes the team has made to the game, most of them get resolved. An upcoming patch is to fix their biggest mistake and what they hope would revive their playerbase. The game has seen it's roller-coaster ride with fluctuating updates, good and bad.
