Then let me look back at your post to see what your point was.

The entire purpose of a joke is to make you laugh, to give you a moment's release from a harsh reality with something stupid or silly, and if you won't let yourself laugh at jokes about a certain subject it's not because the jokes are bad, though they may very well be awful, it's because you're too attached to those various negative emotions associated with the subject to enjoy anything involving it. What kind of a world are we trying to build when we tell other people that they also need to latch onto those negatives and not appreciate somebody adding light to a very dark part of our world?
While you have a point about focusing on negativity
You can't ignore it, either.
You can't forget it exists.
And if you think about it?
Joking about negativity brings light... Right on the negative thing.
To some, you're just reminding them how bad things are, and
It's possible that it'd be seen as mocking what happened.
I certainly do, for things like suicide. I came very close to it. Very.
I don't think it's funny. I don't like being reminded how shitty things got for me. I know what almost happened.
So while you might have good intentions with joking
Doing so can be more harmful than you'd ever think.

When something intensely negative comes to light you're saying that nobody is allowed to feel anything but negative emotions about this topic, no matter where it goes, not only that you're saying such feelings aren't possible, which is what I disagree with. If I make a joke about a shitty topic and you're more concerned about the subject matter than the quality of the joke then you are allowing tragedy to rule your emotions, and trying to make it rule the emotions of those around you too.
