It's remarkably naive to think you can joke and everyone will like it.
The subject matter of a joke is still the most important part of it, no matter of it's quality.
And it sounds like you're blaming the victims of negativity that you can't joke about things like that. Even if you weren't, it's still selfish to whine about why you can't than just trying to keep things considerate for everyone.
You can't always know, of course. But it's pretty safe to say that the touchier topics, like suicide, 9/11, ect
Are generally off limits for jokes.
If you absolutely want to bring light to people's days, be considerate and don't poison your good intentions with a bad topic.
Because emotions are a totally run away train that you CAN'T control or even influence, and "I'M UPSET" is an absolutely valid reason why nobody should try and cheer up you or anyone else going through the same thing.
Then we have an insult, "you're victim blaming" and "your point is selfish" appeals to emotion and need for popularity to make me feel guilty for having an opinion and make me look like a jackass.
Again, you shouldn't be so attached to the idea of "this makes me sad" that nobody can come in and make you laugh, there is no reason to latch onto anything negative like that.
Some topics are inherently negative and for some have connotations with profoundly negative experiences or dark times in people's lives. It's completely naive to act like people should be able to disregard those feelings at the drop of a hat.
It's remarkably insensitive and disrespectful of the subject matter at best and a flat out insult at worst. If you make a joke about suicide to somebody who has tried to take their own life several times do you think they are going to find that funny under any circumstance? Well, you seem to have the audacity to say "no but they should" though...
