Aaaaghh wonderful. I finally found an online game that I consistently enjoy playing: Phantasy Star Online 2. I've been playing for a few weeks now, and I love it. Had it installed on both my Desktop and Laptop and was running it fine on both. Today I went to play, and INSTANT BLUESCREEN.
Turns out GameGuard, the piece of sh*t it uses to protect from hackers, and also displaying similar properties to a rootkit, is incompatible with everything and its mother, including operating systems, and is a number one source of bluescreens on pretty much any computer that runs it.
I know SEGA has a track record of making very bad decisions... always, but SERIOUSLY. YOU ALLOW YOUR GAME TO USE SOMETHING THIS UNSTABLE? The crash is reproducible 100% of the time, so I just uninstalled the game altogether from my laptop. Hooray... I just hope the d*mned thing still works on my Desktop.
