after another look on Ace Combat's lore(on Strangereal) I wonder, can an electromagnetic assisted rail can any normal projectile cannon/artillery or even infantry gun to achieve increases effectiveness and range of the launched projectile, the stonehenge turret network artillery on Strangereal although 120cm caliber the projectile is initially accelerated by gunpowder but then further accelerate to railgun level by the electromagnetic railing around the barrel giving them insane range about the entirety of Australia
I'm not sure does railgun/electromagnetic gun hybird can work on that kind of principal and I need some validation.
Bottlenecked by the curveture means it can hit anything within the horizon and not beyond it because the shells arcing down of the shell would be impossible at railgun level velocity??
and if it's downscaled to let's way an infantry rifle/carbine can enjoy the advantage to a railgun with high velocity projectile without it being too bulky/long barreled with the elctromagnetic railing?
Also in acecombat the stonehenge shells are thermobaric/fuel air explosive than plain explosive
