and if it's downscaled to let's way an infantry rifle/carbine can enjoy the advantage to a railgun with high velocity projectile without it being too bulky/long barreled with the elctromagnetic railing?
Also in acecombat the stonehenge shells are thermobaric/fuel air explosive than plain explosive
Or for filling the gap of gunpowder/chemical powder charge firearm and larger electromagnetic railgun. Imagine, a short/bullpup 5.56mm carbine with the stopping power of a .50 anti material or even a 20mm.
Edit: okay, the traditional full metal(copper) jacket might not be able to handle railgun speeds but probably something harder and heavier like tungsten/DU with alloy jacket.
