Sounds more like hardware issue. Try a temp monitor and see what general computer temperature is like at load. Could also potentially be a power thing (not quite enough power to drive at load?) or just generally faulty hardware (stick your GPU in the oven as a last shot if you think all is lost)
also what's your recommendation for temperature monitoring software?
