Heck, y'know what? We include it. If authorface complains about it then we shove his own clay down his throat, and if he continues to complain, we just switch it out for Pam's Clay Spawn or whatever.
Seriously, that old license looks like it was made by a complete dick.
"2. You have at least one mod created by you in the modpack(as AtomicStryker put it: "to stop the stream of modpack kiddies just cobbling random mods together, having no idea what they are doing")"
HAHAHAHA. Wow. Hilarious. Modpack Kiddies? Seriously?
"4. You may not take credit for the making of mods under this license
5. You must include The_Fireplace as the author in the credits, and provide a link to this page"
SO BASICALLY if you make a mod under his old license, he owns it. This guy was a great comedian.
Edit: Also, on the main curseforge page that that's based off of, it shows a link to the main website, which is the same website with my version of the license. The one I found is the right version.
Kiddies are a thing. Seriously, you haven't seen the German Minecraft community. (Especially the LP community)
Problem is: They won't care. In fact, I would be surprised if half of them even knew that licenses are a thing.
Meanwhile, modpack authors who do things properly most likely won't be able to use his mod because of this.
So I can see why he did that. I can also see why it won't work. It pretty much gives him the opposite of the desired effect.
The other thing refers to MODS under his license, not MODPACKS.
That license probably is just for him to use anyway.
Yes, I know it's mods for 4 and 5. I just find it funny how, even if he only intends to use it, he included those bits.
But really though I can see why he scrapped that license. He probably realized it was having the opposite effect than he desired.
