Akavir is pretty mysterious still, even after all this time. Heck, maybe a proper war between the two, with both invading eachother. (I've always wanted to see Akavir itself in a game)

The Prophecy mentions the oblivion crisis, the volcanic eruption in morrowind, and one or two other disasters that all lead up to the return of Alduin. So we've been on the same prophecy for at least 3 different games, just with each one focusing on a different part of it.Two of those three events happened between the time of Oblivion and Skyrim, and the other was during Oblivion. Only in Skyrim were these events connected in any way with the Alduin's Wall prophecy, retroactively. So basically, they were making it up as they went along and will probably continue to do so. Skyrim was a nice end to the prophecy introduced in Skyrim.
