I find a kinesis crank right next to an unpowered door and think "oh cool a crank powered door"
Turning the crank almost instantly floods the room with orange acid gas.

At the end I use up all my medkits and find the safety room with just a shred of health left, then I go back and see in small, mostly faded away 200 year old letters.
"CAUTION: GAS RELEASE"

why waste resources just to protect the squishy innards of a human rather than just put something hard pressed in metal that handles high velocity projectiles better.
