As is expected, now that I once again have access to my Desktop, I have continued my hunt for my ideal MMO...

"Think Grand Theft Auto meets... I dunno, what's a popular online shooter?... Grand Theft Auto 5 Online? Think that, but it's like a knockoff that actually came out before it. And it's entirely different.... Scrap that comparison."
The signup process was relatively painless, which is always a plus. Game installed pretty quick too. I had a few issues with it crashing when I first tried to make a character, but asides from that and some slight lag issues even on medium graphics, it seems to run good. Going in, there are two factions with actually quite nice introduction videos and descriptions of what each entails, there's the good "Enforcers" who are out to stop the brutal psycho-muderer-thief-etc. "Criminals" (yes, it is Cops and Robbers Online. Which probably exists.) I chose an enforcer for my first character, and immediately spent the first hour in character customization.
Oh. My. God. The customization in this game is by no means the most in-depth I've seen, but it's definitely up near the top. Unfortunately, the "quick" selection options appear to be nonfunctional for the most part, but all the meat is in advanced anyway. I did find that once ingame, my character's hair and skin color were a lot brighter than during creation, so keep that in mind. Only two character slots are avaliable; one for each faction, I guess. Unfortunate since I could spend all day messing with the creator alone.
The tutorial segment was nice and to the point, showing you all the basic controls and what you needed to know. Speaking of which, the default controls are some of the most consise and pleasant I've seen in a game. I only had to change 2 keys or so and that was just for personal preference. Driving is difficult and somebody rammed me. I forgot the brake button and went flying backwards, slammed into a car and ran over a guy. Best rookie Enforcer 2015. Oops. Anyhow, it seems a lot of the clothing, weapons, character mods, and character vehicles are locked behind level barriers. Pretty typical there. I noticed a lack of usually standard social options though, with no apparent way for my character to even sit down. Gotta get that infinite stamina somewhere, I guess. Menus are rather clunky for a game that's less than 8 years old.
So I get to the point in the tutorial where I am about to get into the meat of the game: Missions. Where you earn your income and actually do things. . .
Oh. So it turns out the game has literally 0 PvE content. Everything is PVP, constantly. Gee willikers. I guess I have to cut this short, because I am notoriously terrible at and also completely loathe PvP in online games. Out of the fridge and into the frying pan, I guess. There's no way to progress at all without PvP. I guess I missed that part of the memo.
Oh, and you can use turn signals. 10/10.
