which is why it's complicated that my idea is based on MW4M. basically the idea is that you have 5 players including the DM. the 4 players are the pilots of a mercenary company and the DM is the owner of the company, at the start of the game he will handle buying a dropship, hiring support staff, etc, and he will set aside a sum of money to distribute among the pilots and let them buy their own mechs and gear, with the pilots deciding how much of that they each get. So immediately the players have to either agree to all take a fairly mediocre mech or they can try and convince either the other players or DM to give everyone else a crappy mech so they can get a good one. Then that is essentially how it will go down, the DM will provide missions for them to go on and continue to cover most overhead expenses, while providing cash that would go towards mechs and weapons directly to the pilots and letting them sort it out for itself. So the pilots are in control of their own mech and loadout, the DM has a fair bit of artistic freedom in what he puts them through, and for the most part it focuses on the player characters first and foremost because everything else is done behind the scenes.
