Just skimmed that article. So the "real cost" of win10 is microsoft pushing it really hard? The NSA-machine point has already been beaten to death many times over so I won't even go there, but they keep offhandedly implying that windows 10 is evil incarnate for being really aggressive in getting people to upgrade, which I find largely understandable when the goal of their big campaign to make windows 10 the new standard is to significantly ease the burden of providing tech support to a world that uses their OS by standardizing the OS and thus the support. I agree that taking the choice out of people's hands is annoying but what does that have to do with windows 10? Microsoft has done all these things and instead of blaming Microsoft we're just blaming Windows 10 as if it's something far more insidious than just a standardized OS.
