First ever attempt, 15 minutes.
If you don't like it try a different style of drawing.
This was a drawing of mine I made a couple months ago that I never got around to posting. This is far from my norm as I never draw creatures, I almost always draw plants or inanimate objects.
To carry off of what Rogue tactfully said
The tail could be scaled up a bit as it's a counterbalance.
As for the feathers, the length of those at the end of the wing is fine... except they don't hang in that sense. Like birds, the feathers splay all the way out from the limb, and on Avali the feathers closer to the body are shorter.
Otherwise, the proportions are good.
As for Rahizel, try drawing a grid or using graph paper instead. It helps you see how to proportion things, and how to keep things level. Also, it really helps to sketch basic shapes first. Yeah, an avali would look silly with a circle head, oval body, triangle skirt connected to a diamond tail and so forth, but if it's proportionate and you get the hang of that, the finer details can come later.
Just practice more. Your first arts aren't going to be stellar, and letting others beat you down isn't healthy. Try and keep your old drawings around, too. I go back and look at my old ones from time to time and see just how much I've improved, and it's a massive confidence booster. Just keep at it, you'll get it in time~
