The idea is that you don't go look at Britain's animation and do the same thing. heck, they don't even do it to us usually, they just laugh at how idiotic our media is over there and accept that we're... Different.
I actually don't like Japanese animation. I don't like watching movies or TV shows either, I don't like american animation either, though there are funny bits through all of them. I just don't really like watching things.
All in all though. Labels are useless to do anything other than sort what you like and don't like, and everything is based on preference, rather than good and bad. Making labels pointless beyond sorting things like libraries and computers do. Applying a word doesn't make something worse or better, it just makes it easier to find other things you do and don't like.
