This RP, in any way, is not built on hard science. The solution could be a simple as it being Coro's inherent property, meaning he is the only one capable of doing it without someone losing all of their body. This would require soul-based fuckery since you basically die, which, if Coro's job is the same as last time, would end in him getting fired. Hell, it could even be the inherent property of a Reaper's physical body, meaning no-one else gets it, without being in the right criteria to become a reaper without dying.
...So wait I get Coro was important to the previous iteration of the RP, but why are you automatically keen on making an exception to the "ohgod not more shapeshifting" quasi-rule for Coro? I thought it had pretty much been agreed upon - even in the semiserious RP, for heathen's sake - that any significant amount of shapeshifting is severely mildly aggravating at times.
Note: Also, I'm back... Already. After my little freakout I realized that the rest of my usual internet activities are much more boring without the Nexus being around too. (I mean asides from TVTropes, which now sits at 529 bookmarks in my menu. Aaaaa.)
Because we 1, already have souls and the afterlife, 2, have psychics, 3, have a dream anomaly, and 4, I did the precursor plot already.
I also never said that I would actually make it canon, only that Marx could not make the call about shapeshifting and suggested examples to support me. Whether or not shapeshifting appears depends on if Coro wants to do that character again.
