In any case. Yeah, a glave is simply a large one sided knife on a stick, whereas spears are radial with blades on both sides leading to a fine point. Glaives also tend to have their blade with a minor curve until it ends at it's point. Being less effective against armor than a spear, but better versus multiple unarmored targets due to the ability of using capable slashing strikes with a longer blade than standard spears have available.
