I've seen the forum page of your guys RP here and on the starbround community I'm not vary good with this type of RP when its all on a forums post and some times I read some of your guy's stuff and its hard for me some times to make heads or tails as to what is happening I do love the avali race and I wish they were not a mod but a thing in the core game it self but hey it dont matter
So I made a thing. It has Avali in it. This is my first venture into the world of machinima and the world of Avali, so expect some clumsiness. I'm still developing my story and process, so I welcome any feedback you have to give.
Quick note about the lore: While I hope to hold this series closely to the official lore where possible, it should be considered "AU" because I am willing to ignore or outright contradict the official lore if I feel make the story work better and I make up details whole-cloth whenever I need to. Please point out lore errors anyway--you won't always be able to tell when I'm throwing out a piece of lore, or if it's just an error. On the flipside, you are free to use any lore I create in your own works. It wouldn't be fair for me to build this playground off the Avali lorebase and not let anyone share it!
With that out of the way, here is the first episode:

Humans and Avali have never gotten along. The gulf between them is old and runs deep. So when a human finds himself the only companion to a lone Avali warrior, conflict is inevitable. Brokering an uneasy peace, the two set out to return the warrior to his people and pack, unaware that the events they have set in motion that could prove to be the downfall of both their races.

Starbound: The Monsters Below is a machinima masquerading as a let’s play. It is set in the Starbound universe, amended by the Avali race created by RyujiinZero... and a few little twists of my own!
Self-rated PG: you can expect blood, violence, occasional swearing in English, frequent untranslated swearing in an alien language, and scary situations.
Hey there. I'm YellowDemonHurlr: college student, let's player, and creator of the machinima Starbound: The Monsters Below. It has Avali in it, so I figured this would be the place to share it, get feedback, and get corrections for the minutae of the lore that I will inevitably get wrong.
So. I was sitting in my bed, on my computer, since my laptop has made me lazy, and a thought came to me.
"You know what? I don't like the starbound humans too much."
I just realized it. Mostly, I don't like them since they aren't really too sci-fi. So I had an idea. Obviously I can't make them really high tech, that's the Apex job. But what if I made them like the old cheesy Sci-fi? You know, the ones in the flamoyantly bright clothing and low budget effects, where it wasn't so dark and gritty and dull and grey. I have the basic ideas, though I haven't got to making the race, since there is no template for me, but a reddit poster says they are making one so I'll be waiting for that. So in the mean time, I had to expand on the lore. But I realised, I was terrible at lore. So I came to the place with the best loremakers I know. That friendly bloke in the ally outside the Co-op
You guys! The bare bones I have so far is that when the Roswell Incident occurred, a UFO did actually land, and the government took the ship and reversed engineered the warp drive. Humans are called Earthlings, and the Earth was not destroyed.
Welcome to Nexus 17. Or the U.P.C.S Eden. A planet only recently made inhabitable, or a megastation for many to live in. Please, enjoy your stay at this wonderful intersection of many times and places. You may come to love it.

With that out of the way, I would like to welcome you all to the Nexus RP: Rebirth. There are a few changes in effect with the RP now. The biggest change is that everyone's characters have, essentially, been set to "zero"...kind of. You have the opportunity to adjust your character to exist within this new environment, mostly to make everyone far less overpowered, making possible threats...actually threatening.
The second big change is the RP is no longer located on a random planet....dimension...thing. Instead, the RP takes place between two locations: The U.P.C.S Eden, a gigantic mechanical space station complete with artificial gravity and large amounts of people, and Nexus 17, a recently recolonized planet dotted with small villages. Travel between the two is incredibly easy - all the towns on Nexus 17 have a shuttle port, and it's easy to get a ride on a shuttle from the Eden to Nexus.
The third change is more minor, but dimensional portals exist, and are far easier to use. Many people have come from other dimensions, and thus an easy method of travel between them has been established. One cannot easily and quickly open and close a portal on a whim, but portal transfer stations are abundant on the Eden, and a few villages on Nexus have them as well.
Death will function in the same way as previous: Upon death, a character will drop a crystal, which must be supported by at least three players in order to bring a character back. If the crystal cracks in any way, the character is gone for good. Revival stations are common on the Eden, and each town/village has at least one. If a character dies and is supported, it wil ltake them 3 OOC days to come back to life.
Anyways, onto the rules!
1. Please don't make ridiculously overpowered things without consulting the majority of players first. This is to prevent excessive powercreep like what occured last time.
2. Don't autohit or control other characters without their player's permission. This is just so things aren't unfair.
3. Permanently killed means permanently killed. If you decide your crystal is cracked, that character is dead. Period. Do not do this unless you are 100% sure you do NOT want that character coming back.
4. Characters from the previous RP will have some memory of the previous RP. It will seem like a dream, yes, but they will remember the people they met and some things which occurred. Of course, you can choose what your character does and doesn't remember.
5. Have fun. Failure to have fun means you aren't having fun. That's bad.
Hello everyone,I've been playing Starbound for around 2 years now and I've lurked on some of the old Nexus threads on the Starbound forums when I saw a link to the forums here. I do hope the forum continues to grow!
Hello there
Im Epto and it took me this long to introduce myself
I am sometimes awkward but i try not to be awkward
I dont have much to say right now other than im a shy black and purple avali..
The Avali Race Mod is made by RyuujinZERO, and is currently the highest-rated mod for Starbound (Which honestly it probably doesn't deserve at this stage). To sum it up, it adds a race of ammonia-based, feathery, sapient space raptor nomads to the game, complete with unique furniture, weapons and clothing.
The Avali community started as a lowly, calm place to discuss the mod. However, as the Avali got bigger and bigger, so did the community, until it transcended into an uncontrollable mass of RP and shenanigans (99% the time NOT canon) that is as stable as a nuclear power plant without cooling.
And so the inevitable happened. The 500 page page limit was reached in mere weeks, and the discussion thread was locked just before it could reach page 700.
The discussion thread split into two after the lock - a second discussion thread, and a brand new clan thread. The new discussion thread is the first one except the uncontrollable mass filtered out, and the clan threads are that uncontrollable mass. We're preeetty active. The average lifespan of a clan thread is 2 weeks.
As the 13rd 14st 15nd 16th 17th 18th 19th 20th 21st 22nd 23nd thread faced the wrath of the mods, it was high time to get the fuck out of the CF forums. So here we are. On the second thread.
We killed threads upon threads, went through legendary adventures, faced down Iblis himself, and finally...

[Okay I really don't have a good answer for this, unfortunately. My hours of activity are bizzare to say the least.]
Why do you think you would be a good staff member?: Wait I have to be good?
[I know as much as I try to stay impartial, I know I can get heated sometimes. That said, I usually try to defuse situations in my own backwards way... Probably not making a good case for myself here... Uhh... Well at least I know I'd be careful with the power given to me; I wouldn't just go around banning everyone always.]
Any prior experience?: Nope!
[Nope. I tried to avoid positions of power until now because I don't like having a lot of responsibility in important situations or making serious decisions constantly.]
Do you agree to uphold the rules, no matter who is violating them?: NOBODY IS SAFE.
[While I wouldn't give special favour to anyone, I can't guarentee that I'll be very strict. I was on the "rules were meant to be bent" bandwagon in the Chucklefish Forums Incident so I'd probably end up giving everyone a bit too much leeway...]
Other methods of communication: Crystal ball, summoning ritual, yelling very loud.
[Steam (on decently often), Skype (often forget about it but try to be on often), Email (yeah I wouldn't count on this one). All of which would be given via PM and only if I am ever brought on as a moderator.]
Yeah I know, worst application in the history of... Okay there have been worse. I basically only put this here in case we're ever really desperate for moderators even enough that someone inconsistent would be hired. Think of me as an undignified backup in-case-of-emergency-break-glass fire extinguisher kind of thing; if you really need someone to fill in a gap in the flame-protection and nobody else is willing, I'll try to help to the best of my ability, but don't expect me to be too useful because I've been sitting in that glass case for a long time past my expiration date, which you really should have checked more frequently because staying up to date with safety is always a good thing and I could almost swear I was going somewhere with this. Unless of course this application somehow passes and I get the job. Which would surprise and confuse me a little.
