More often than not, yes.  They provide constructive criticism however, which is beneficial in the long run in most cases.  (Not all but)

Case in point: the toilets are there, but only to avert the question on the first place, and will never be part of the scope of the RP.

Ok so now that toilets are sorted out, can we talk about the thing I mentioned yesterday that is actually important?
That is: what are we going to do with Avali biology?

Will we use their traditional biology and have them originate from an outer planet of the star system?
Or, will we make them water based and originate from the same planet as the other species?
if the races lived on the same world the Avali would be stuck to the polar caps anyways, and dehumidifiers are VERY important in space, actually, anyways. A lot of avali important materials are actually used in human ships for the cooling systems anyways today. The full availability being that the temp could be kept at -100C, however this would cause heavy strain on systems. So choose what you want to ignore of what I just said and RIP it out.

Why would they be stuck on the ice caps? I just said that if we go with that idea, Avali would be water based.
I could of swore that last sentence or two weren't there when I posted that. Oh well.

Water based, it's easier on logistics.

Ok then.
But I remember there was one last thing I was going to complain about...

Oh right, maps.
While I can accept that not all crew member are running around with a map all the time (although technically possible if we use electronic maps on some smartphone equivalent), can we at least have some fixed maps of the "YOU ARE HERE" variety scattered around The Ship?
Having no maps at all on a ship that clearly has a large and complicated layout simply does not make sense.

I meant that you, the player, will not get a map. The ship does have a map, which you can have a character look at to see where a room is to kickstart instawalking there.

Ok, you originally made it sound like there will be no maps at all.

I think what would be best is if the player could theoretically get a map but there isn't much reason to do so.
There is one more issue that I would like to talk about.

I don't think silver will be able to provide enough content to keep the RP interesting, and players can't really make their own on the fly because everything is confined to the Ship.

I suggest we make a system where players can come up with ideas for scenarios, then silver selects the ones he likes and they get played through.

False. You can exit the ship for various reasons, and being an explorer means you are part of the teams who explore stuff outside the ship.

Also, because I'm not limited to ultra-serious plotlines about the fate of the universe, I do not think I will run out of content, plus the random factor can result in interesting situations with no planning involved.

You still have to stick with the Ship. If it leaves without you, you're stuck unless it comes back for you. At which point you will be on the Ship again.

Either way, it would still be a way for players to contibute

Well, alright.
Also, I have an idea for a rough categorisation of the crew.
Should I write it or do you want to keep that as undefined as possible too?

Do you mean like types of jobs? If so, yes.

Yes that. And kind of the various departments on the ship. Im going to steal most of it from star trek anyway.

I would welcome it.
Ok this is what I came up with:

The following categories are available:
Tactical, Security, Engineering, Logistics, Science, IT, Medical and Welfare.

Tactical
The Tactical crew are essentially soldiers. They handle the heavier fighting on the ground as well as man the turrets and auxiliary fighter craft of the ship. They are in charge of the ship's armoury.

Security
The Security crew are the ones that handle shipboard and away-team security from both drunken crewmen and outside threats alike. Tactical and security often blends together and crew members who work as tactical often also work as security.

Engineering
The engineering teams are the part of the crew that keep the ship from falling apart and make sure everything works at maximum efficiency. They coordinate their efforts from the Engineering room near the ship's main reactor. Engineering is in charge of the power systems and engine assemblies as well as Main Engineering and the shipboard factories.

Logistics
The Logistics crew handle the ship's logistics. They move material and equipment to where it is needed and are in charge of cargo bay and shuttle bay operations. Logistics and Engineering rely on each other and are often seen working together. Logistics is also in charge of the communications array.

Science
The Science crew is one of the most important parts of any exploration vessel. They will research anything they can get their hands on and will find solutions to complex problems. If a away-team gets sent down without a Science team, its goal most likely isn't exploration. Science is in charge of the laboratories and sensor arrays.

IT
The IT department can be considered a counterpart to Engineering. While Engineering works on the ship's structural and power systems, IT takes care of the ship's computer systems. IT also handles intelligence and cryptography matters and are in charge of the ships mainframe computer system.

Medical
The role of the medical crew is obvious. They keep the crew alive and healthy. The medical staff treats wounds and illnesses and performs the widely disliked routine checkups. They work together with Science on topics of xenobiology and are in charge of the ship's sickbays.

Welfare
The Welfare crew is an often overlooked yet important part of a starship's operations. Their primary concern is the welfare of the crew and they often work together with the medical staff because if this. The Welfare crew handles the crew's duty shifts and vacations and organize recreational events. The kitchen staff is also considered to be part of the Welfare crew.

Well that's far better than anything my brain could think up right now.
