//Death is PERMANENT.
The regular earthquakes had begun to annoy Danu a little as she was trying to cook and keep her house neat despite the chaos outside.
She had ended up going around fastening things into their proper places.
Out in her yard a lantern had been placed on top of the monument.

// Welp, Penguin is dead at least 10 times over then..
// Lets make a new character then!
//I suppose since this isn't that serious of an RP, we could arrange some sort of 'revival machine' that brings characters back. But something like that really should have a majority of people agreeing on it before it is used. Given though how many characters we have that kill themselves at random though...

//Aye. Death may be cheap, but it still should have some price. Just because you die, doesn't mean you'll come back. Some, obviously, would. Others wouldn't, due to either needing to stay dead due to them being a problem, or something else. Permadeath no matter what is...problematic in this setting.
//but yeah a "we gotta agree to bring them back/there's a consequence" sort of deal would be good. Especially both. Dying doesn't mean you'll be back the next day even if you are brought back...two or three days seems logical enough.

// I was actually just thinking of that- only problem is how to make it.
// Perhaps I could use Ether in some way- in Xenoblade Chronicles, slain monsters would often drop white Ether crystals with random aspects for gem crafting.
// Maybe when someone is slain, they leave a crystal behind that has to be inserted into the machine in order for them to be revived?
// We'd obviously have to agree on something that would be taken... Perhaps at least one ability per death, as there's both magic and genetic abilities here.
//I think i've got the idea down now, i just don't know if i should go for it.
// Most likely going to be terrible.

i like ehks idea, i think losing an ability might be too much of a price, but no RP with a char for like 3 days or actually being perma-dead(because your annoying) is much better, and about the crystals, couldn't someone just simply break these crystals after people die then nobody would live, (scenario: evil bad guy finds all our crystal dead body things he breaks them, we are now all dead the end.) .

//I do like the crystal idea. You die, your soul is trapped in a crystal, which will allow you to come back. If the crystal is gone, poof, your soul goes on to wherever souls go.
//All right. Guess i should begin.
*A human and a penguin walk together towards the common area*
You sure this is the place?
Pretty sure.. yeah.
I was here a while ago.. then i kinda went to find a job and found you..
Ahh.. good.
I don't want to bash another thing's skull in with a wrench..

// Yes, this would work nicely. On death you drop a crystal that can be collected by your allies and brought to Wurg's lab. If enough of your friends come forward to support your revival, your crystal begins to glow and can no longer be destroyed. At that point it is placed in a clone tube in Wurg and Jackal's lab, where over the course of a couple of days your character regrows but has to re-learn at least one of their abilities. Then Death has a penalty but is not permanent, and we retain the ability to sort of vote-off characters that are poorly written or problematic. Or eliminate final bosses by instead enough people oppose their revival and the crystal blackens until it shatters.
Bundled in a white robe, Danu makes her way towards Wurg's lab with a small bag over her shoulder. She seems gravely concerned about something.

//This is a death system I can get behind, certainly. A nonpermanent penalty, but still one that is...well, very much a penalty. I support this.

*The door to the house proper is easy enough to go through, and, once inside, it's obvious where the lab is - after all, there is a sign over a "window" of sorts that states LAB IS HERE. Once Danu gets inside, I look up. Ehks is nearby, fiddling with a nearby console.*
Hm?

*Both have goggles around their necks. The human has a strange set of clothing, wearing a golden leather jacket with a black shirt inside. A few gears were put in the jacket. He also wears golden leather pants.*
Uhh.. where can we find a home here?
I dunno.. its been a while.
You know any people around here?
A few yeah.. but i'm not sure they're even still here..
"Sorry to intrude Wurg, but regarding recent events..."
Danu carefully walks in, her footsteps silent and her feet bare as they peek out from under the robe. It almost seems like she isn't putting a lot of weight on the floor despite the size of her body.
"I might have something that could help preserve the sanity of your people here in this world."
I don't see anybody.. are you sure this is the place?
I was expected somebody to be around.. i guess i do remember where my old house is though.. its rather small..
But.. it could do..
Well.. seems to be our only option.
Lead me to it.
